Here's what I noticed

I've been running The REdD Academy Network for a few months now; answering marketing questions, sharing advice, and uploading tutorials on private practice marketing.

And even though I've shared all my best resources and guides, here's what I've noticed:
Therapists need more than information and guidance, they need a focus. A mission.

So this Monday, we kicked off our June's Mission: Using Summer for Growth.

What we're focusing on, is working on generating new referrals. Curiously, the best part about marketing a therapy practice is that you can easily leverage networking to generate referrals.

The mental health space has a strong referral culture already, so all you need is a consistent effort and a step-by-step process.

This process is what will give you the momentum and help you stay on top of people's minds.

Here's a simple version of it:

  1. Identify your potential referral partners: colleagues, healthcare providers, organizations, local businesses, or past clients.
  2. Pick 3-5 people that you feel most comfortable reaching out to (today).
  3. Write one master email that you can personalize and send out.
  4. Email each person on your list to reconnect, or introduce your practice.
  5. Follow up!

It's refreshingly low-tech, and you can start on your own, as soon as today.

But if you want to try this alongside others doing the same, the June Mission is underway.

We’re focused, we’re supportive, and we’re doing it together. You’re welcome to join us.

And now to the news!

NOTEWORTHY

Can ChatGPT Replace Therapy?

This article asks the question many are wondering: can AI really offer emotional support?

Spoiler! Clients still need connection, not just convenience. Good reminder that our human presence is still the most valuable asset.

BUSINESS AND PRIVATE PRACTICE

Private Practice PR

Speaking of a relatively low-tech marketing tactic that you can implement, consider Public Relations (PR).

The REdD Strategy blog just published a new article that guides therapists to start using PR for visibility and client reach. You'll find actionable advice and tips to get started.

INDUSTRY NEWS

Substance Use and Mental Health in Older Adults

As substance use rises among seniors, so do complex mental health needs.

For practice owners, this may signal a growing demand for age-informed care and new referral opportunities in geriatrics and addiction support.

FINAL THOUGHTS

It's summer, it's mellow. I get it.

You don't need to go full speed on your marketing if you don't want to. All you need is some maintenance.

A thoughtful email. A kind follow-up. A little consistency.

Keeping it human and simple is enough to stay on top of mind, and bring in a new referral.

See you next week,

Avivit
