Hi, Iβm Avivit Fisher. I help therapists build stronger private-pay practices through positioning, visibility, and better business decisions. Therapy Business Brief is for practice owners who want to grow with clarity, not more noise. Each week, I write about private-pay strategy, marketing decisions, and the economics of building a sustainable therapy business.

Years ago I hired a business coach. I needed someone to help me get out of my own way and figure out how to get my business off the ground. I expected the coach to identify my blind spots and help me understand what was preventing growth. Instead, our work focused on support, validation, and mindset. So I sunk a lot of money into something that I didn't really need at the time. What's more, my mindset or confidence hadn't really changed because I needed to see numbers and results first. Sometimes, a coach is exactly what a business owner needs. Unfortunately for me, I needed something else at the time. For many clients who approach me, our engagement comes after a series of unsuccessful experiences with marketers, coaches, and agencies. Just like me at the time, therapists don't always know the difference between all of these services and hire people who are not a good fit for their specific situation. I recently wrote an article Therapy Business Coach: How to Choose the Right Help for Your Private Practice to clarify these differences. I also created this diagram to keep as a reference when you're looking for help. Much of my work and writing revolves around allocating your resources correctly, in a way that will reduce wasted time and money. Paying for the wrong service for your needs, or at the wrong time for your business stage can be avoided. I hope this article helps you with that. See you next week, Avivit
