Hi, Iβm Avivit Fisher. I help therapists build stronger private-pay practices through positioning, visibility, and better business decisions. Therapy Business Brief is for practice owners who want to grow with clarity, not more noise. Each week, I write about private-pay strategy, marketing decisions, and the economics of building a sustainable therapy business.

This week I debuted my Private Pay Practice Framework at the Therapy Flow summit. My main argument was: Growth tactics fail when the underlying system (positioning, referrals, visibility, operations) are not set up right. In other words, doing more SEO won't help you attract clients if they don't understand why you're the obvious choice for them. Here's a short clip of what I mean: But the most important point from the presentation that I want to highlight today, is the difference between insurance and private-pay practice models. These models are fundamentally different from a business perspective, and they operate in a different way too. While an insurance-based practice must rely on generating a high volume of leads, a private-pay practice needs to filter the clients based on fit. Each model comes with its own set of tradeoffs. For private-pay, the freedom and independence comes at a cost of larger marketing investments, and longer time to fill your caseload. So the question is not "What's better, insurance or private-pay?" But "Am I ready to accept the costs that come with the model I choose?" Once you understand the tradeoffs clearly, you can stop chasing tactics and start building the right system around the model you actually want. Thatβs exactly what the framework Iβve developed is designed to help you do. So, do you accept the costs? See you next week, Avivit And now to the news!
