NOTES FROM THE EDITOR

The path to passive income...

is laid through a lot of hard work.

Last year I finally launched my online course. After two years of preparation and a couple of failed attempts, the stars finally alined and I dedicated a few months to putting it together.

For many therapists the idea of a passive income is somewhat of a pipe dream. The most attainable version of it is growing into a group practice and sharing the profit with clinicians who work for you.

But there's another version in which you get to share your knowledge, help more people, and make extra cash. I'm talking about an online course of course.

Many clinicians like Dr. Becky Kennedy, Esther Perel, and therapists less known to the public have created and launched courses that became their supplemental income streams.

And if you've thought of building your own online course, here are a few things you should know:

  1. It takes time to plan, create and record your course, so make sure it can fit into your schedule.
  2. The technical part is much simpler than we expect. So even if you're nervous about it, you can do it.
  3. Having someone guide you and keep you accountable will make this process MUCH easier and will increase your chances for success.
  4. Once you record your course, you can sell it forever.
  5. Done well, it can be a substantial stream of passive income for your practice.

Now, if you're still not sure that this version of passive income makes sense for you or your practice, you can take a 2-minute free quiz to find out.

It's built by Amy Porterfield, a veteran in digital course creation and the person who helped me build my own course. Why knows? Maybe you're already sitting on a serious passive income potential.

BUSINESS AND PRIVATE PRACTICE

Lack of supervision

A recent survey done by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council found that 75% of 10,233 mental health providers were not offering supervision. Over 50% of responders are not interested in providing supervision services.

Lack of supervisors poses as a major roadblock for young providers entering the mental health field. Many providers who get supervision license tend to drop out of supervision after a short time.
