NOTES FROM THE EDITOR

Think Global, Act Local

I've written about online directories before.

It's a tedious task to list your practice in online directories, especially since there are so many of them.

And yet, without this step, your local SEO will suffer. It means that people in your area won't be able to find you online easily.

Besides that, there will be an additional friction point for those actively looking for a therapist because they'll have to search for more information about you manually.

The problem for many therapists is knowing what information to add to your directory listings.

To help you with that, I'd like to share this short article on "5 Must-Haves for Your Therapy Directory Listing"

And now to the news!

P.S. If you're looking for help filling your private pay caseload - this might be for you. I have 1 remaining spot for my High-Impact Marketing Coaching in June. Reply "Interested", and I'll send the details. First come, first served.

A Taskforce for Maternal Health

According to studies, perinatal depression affects as many as 20% of women in the United States during pregnancy, the postpartum period, or both.

To combat the systematic issues that hinder access to care, the Biden-Harris administration announced a Maternal Mental Health Task Force.

Quitting Therapy

This candid article talks about the real reasons people quit therapy. Surprisingly, despite using it as an excuse, money is not the main motivator.

#highfunctioninganxiety

Teenage anxiety rates increased by 27% in the three years before the pandemic. The flood of information is causing more young people to misinterpret a mental health diagnosis and self-diagnose incorrectly.

In this short NYT opinion video, Dr Lucy Faulkes talks about the dangers of excessive mental health awareness on Social Media.
